Bada Developers Challenge: Prizes and Categories

wit, December 8th, 2009

Today, in the Bada launch event in London, Samsung announces further details regarding the developers challenge. It is supposed to run until June 2010 and award 2,700,000+ USD in prizes to 300 winners, whereas the champion will get a remarkable $ 300,000.  The challenge is distributed in nine categories and various levels.

  • bada_developers_challange_social Social. Apps related to dates, friends and other social interaction
  • bada_developers_challange_entertainment Games & Entertainment, including media, music, tv, etc.
  • bada_developers_challange_geeks High-Tech. Apps for geeks like hardcore games, computing, studying, technology…
  • bada_developers_challange_easylife Lifestyle. Apps related to shopping, tourism, fitenss etc.
  • bada_developers_challange_office In the office. Apps for the usual office workers (e.g related to meetings, schedules, diaries, etc.)

There will be a winner for each category winning $ 100,000 each. Except the overall champion, who will get $ 300,000 instead. The second prize is $ 60,000 and the third $ 40,000 for each category. There will be 7 other winners at a later stage for each category – winning $5,000 each. Furthermore 210 additional winners will exist, however their winning nor the criteria are not known to me yet (nevertheless the plain substraction/division suggests about $1,800 for each of them).

So, as it has been said before, the challenge is rather generous and there is plenty of prizes to win! Read how to win the bada developers challenge and good luck to all of you!
