Hello fellow pirates!
During the Developers Day in Seoul on 8th December Samsung has announced bada 2.0, that will probably arrive early next year. As it seems it will include some exciting new features that, once again, make my head spin (in a good way 
)
Most exciting, in my opinion:
- Multitasking
- a new SDK for Linux and Mac
- faster Simulator
- OpenAL
- WAC support
- speech recognition (I hope they open the API for that!
) - etc.
It seems 2011 will be an exciting year for bada!
Although Samsung did not reach its goal of selling 10 Million Waves this year (but only 5 Million), it seems they are pretty optimistic in surpassing that number in the first half of 2011.

Wonder if existing devices will be also upgraded to 2.0.
At least the 2nd image arrows don’t inspire much confidence… :/

If I remember it right, Justin did say that Wave and Wave II would be upgraded to bada 2.0

Definitely waiting for the Mac version of the SDK; using the SDK from Parallels is pretty annoying.

Samsung is delaying too much, users are getting bored…version 1.2 should include flash and skype at least…will it be in fimware 2? they are not clear, no clear comments if S8500 will be upgraded or not..is it so difficult to say yes or no?..because if the answer is negative…believe me..most users will throw the phone away and go to android.
Technology does not run…if flies!!! so samsung..say something clear once and for all.

I don’t know who is Justin, but I don’t believe that they will deliver 1.2.* or 2.* to my beloved 525.
There’s still no Kies for GNU/Linux or BSD.
And still no support for a wide range of open media formats.

Please excuse my ignorance.
Did the announcement cover when the 2.0 SDK would be available? I realize it (2.0) was just announced. Any other details on the mac side of the SDK – the IDE and simulator is a Samsung creation or based on something else? Also – I see that it is basically C++ I assume you can wrap straight C libraries correct?

Nice, but Upgrade to 1.2 is so far away…
They will upgrade the fmw 2.0 only to lineage wave II not to 525,533 …
