Samsung Bada Local Dev Day in Frankfurt

Last Friday we have participated in the local bada dev day in Frankfurt (Germany). It has been a great event, with great people and great food! It’s been a please getting to know some of you guys (that we know from our forums or the twitter) personally and chat about the ocean! Also, thanks to everybody who has been involved in the organization of this event and especially to the speakers:

  • Sunny Lee (President Samsung Germany) : impressive intro, we loved your cool style :-D
  • Dirk Rombach: nice intro in German
  • Phil Northam (Samsung Electronic Research Institute in London) : Introduction to Bada. Phil told us why we need another platform and how it is positioned on the market regarding other platforms. Phil also bravely withstood some German comments about the football match between Germany and England this Sunday :-D   Great presentation, Phil!
  • Mr. Park (ETO): sorry I forgot your first name… Showed us the developer site as well as the samsung apps seller office
  • Younjoo Lee (HQ): From the team that certifies our apps in Samsung’s head quarters. She explained us the certification process. We will remember to send you our questions, Younjoo! :-)
  • Keith Bauwise: Bada Evangelist. He basically showed us step-by-step creation of a bada app.
  • Ronan Schwarz: impressive face recognition app demo. Would be great to see it on store some day (with an improved UI) ;-)
  • Mikko Linnamäki, CEO Liquid Air Lab: Demo presentation of cool radio apps – these ones will be very popular on bada in Europe. We wish you success!
  • Developer Advocates: you are all cool guys! We look forward to the next STUG meeting in Frankfurt!
  • Rolf-Peter Ullrich (Samsung Mobile Germany): It has been a pleasure to meet you… finally! Thank you for organizing this great event!
  • all the others whose names I might have forgotten… :-P

The event was planned for about a 100 developers, nevertheless 150 have registered. Therefore, only 100 developers have actually received a free Wave ( sparky was one of them – I was not that lucky :-P ). Still – a generous move from Samsung: mobile developers love free gadgets ;-)

The slides from this event shall become available shortly on this website.
