Samsung Is Solving The Certification Issues!

Do you know the feeling when you are trying to open a stubborn hard-to-open bottle or a jar, you are trying and trying and suddenly feel that the lid is slowly beginning to loosen up? This is the kind of a feeling I have right now about the certification issues, that many of us have been having in the recent weeks. It’s a beginning – once the things start moving they will finally end up where they belong!

At last, we have received  an answer from Samsung regarding these issues. As Nour has already mentioned on the forums, many developers have also received a corresponding e-mail.  Here is Samsung’s response:

Dear Badadevs

Recently we read http://www.badadev.com/certification-horrors-continue/
and there was a meeting in Samsung HQ to resolve these issues.

As a result of the meeting, we sent the following email (see below) to
sellers whose app had taken more than 7 days. In future we will provide
better ways to meet our 7 day certification time.

Also, discussion on Ads is also under progress. We will let you know the
result soon.

Regards,

The Samsung bada Team

Seller letter:

Statement of apology for the certification delay
Dear Seller

The Samsung Apps Certification Team would like to sincerely apologize
for the inconvenience you have experienced with bada certification.

We understand the frustrations you’ve been experiencing with application
approval. As soon as we reviewed the cases, we realized that we needed
to address your concerns. This is especially concerning because our
certification team had promised a seven business day turn around time,
and we’ve failed to deliver on this promise to many sellers.

We are truly sorry for the frustration and inconvenience that this has
caused.

Samsung is taking immediate action to regain seller’s confidence in us.
We are implementing a comprehensive plan to provide a more consistent
and efficient certification process for our sellers. We will assign more
resources in order to relieve certification delay immediately. Samsung
highly values sellers who’ve invested valuable development time into
apps for our platform and have made it our goal to become as responsive
as possible to sellers.

We’d like to fast track the applications you’ve been having trouble
with: please upload your request to the official Q&A site in the Samsung
Apps Seller Office (http://seller.samsungapps.com/) to reduce the
response time for your request.

Sincerely,
Certification Team
Samsung Electronics Co., LTD

I feel quiet motivated again :-) Happy developing to everyone!

You should re-instate the certification poll after this to see if this is just hot air from Samsung

I wonder how long they will take to speed the things up. Then we can restart the poll to see whether there is real work being done..

Well i think they got over runned by at the devs submitting applications. Sometime the process get loose and is hard to keep track. Im pretty sure that is just a matter of a proper and simplified process that they need to follow, develop more clear standards for the evaluators and just speed up the time to market. Dont worry guys, this OS is a samsung flagship and believe me their are investing time, energy and resources as any other tech company to comercialize and standardize bada. Just wait and see.

I am hopeful, but I got an email saying to of my apps are moved from “under content review process” to delayed:P

Let wait for a week or see if they pull of something good:)

    Well, I hope it doesn’t remain a marketing promise…
    However, great!

I personnally didn’t receive any email, and still have an app waiting for review.
The funny thing is that I checked yesterday and the update date was on aug 09 though I know I submitted the app on july. (and the status didn’t change of course).

    @caketuzz…
If update date changes then ur status will change soon….it happened to four of my apps….
I think the big bottle neck is content review where they limited resources…I would suggest the make that part stream lined and remove useless checks that dont make much sense….
