Samsung Wave officially announced!
The Samsung Unpacked session at Mobile World Congress seems to be over. It was somewhat superficial for my taste. Some details that I particularly was hoping for, were not given. For instance, the price range of the Wave is still unknown. Nevertheless the Wave itself seems to become, even from the hardware perspective alone, a device that will put even the mighty iPhone in the shadows. (Note: As I hear, the Samsung Wave S8500 review is available here. There is also already an official website for the Wave)
It features the Super Amoled display, that combined with its new touch and imaging technology achieves some incredible things:
- 20% more visibility outdoors
- 5 times less reflection of the sunlight
- the phones becomes much slimmer
Here’s a small preview against Google’s Nexus phone:
Looks unreal and too good to be true!
The phone battery promises 450 hours stand-by time. Still, with an hour talk per day, multiple sent and received messages, and several hours of music playback per day – you will probably still end up re-charging it once every two days, as with most smartphones.
Nevertheless, you will also get more speed. With 1Ghz, Wave holds the fastest mobile processor ever seen in a smartphone.
More about the Samsung Wave is available on this website.
Bada SDK will become available in March. We will have to wait several weeks more!

interesting, the 450 hours standby is what I am personally looking forward to test. Hard to believe.. my G1 dies after 50 hours of standby :-/
